About ICD Tumb
Navkar Terminals Ltd, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Navkar Corporation Ltd, has developed an Inland Container Depot at Tumb village, in the Umbergaon taluka of Valsad district in Gujarat. Located just 3km off the National Highway 8 which links Mumbai/JNPT to New Delhi and runs parallel to the upcoming dedicated freight corridor, this ICD Tumb acts as a strategic logistics centre for all types of import and export cargoes that emanate or come into this region. ICD Tumb is about 176 km from NhavaSheva port and about 146 km from Hazira port. Spread over an expanse of about 70 acres, this facility comprises of a customs-notified Inland Container Depot and a Logistics Park.
The facility at Tumb comprises of a customs-notified Inland Container Depot that is in operation from March 2016. Here, it receives all types of import laden cargoes which arrive from Hazira or NhavaSheva for clearance and then are moved to the factories of the consignees.
The logistics park comprises of a vast storage facility, warehouses, container storage depot, maintenance and repair unit for ISO containers, parking lots and cargo handling areas for labelling, packaging, shrink-wrapping, palletizing etc.
ICD Tumb has covered warehouse for storage of export and import cargoes. The facility is well-equipped with Reach-stackers, cranes, fork-lifts and trailers in full stage of readiness for handling all types of cargoes including project consignments, Out-Of-Gauge, and reefers. Continuous stuffing and de-stuffing of cargoes are planned for different consignments. Trailers are available for immediate movement after clearance by the customs.
The facility operates 24x7 and has a full complement of staff that will cater to the requirements of the customers.
